Temple and Family History

  • May Invitation: Check children of your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Great-grandparents, and see if they have spouses in FamilySearch, especially if they lived long enough to have married. Find sources and add names to your Family Tree

Emergency Preparedness

Action Plan for May:  Water

  • Understand your water needs.  Store sufficient drinking water for you family for a minimum of two weeks.  Gather or update purification supplies.  Practice water usage and purification skills.
  • You can only last three to four days without it. Having a storage of clean drinking water and knowing how to safely treat more is vital to "be ready" for survival

Plan:

  • Review the Links in the text
  • Resources are at the Bottom of the Page
  • Customize to your needs

Prepare:

  • Start or Update your Emergency Water Supply.
  • Store a MINIMUM of 1 gallon of clean drinking water per person per day.
  • Store a MINIMUM 2 week supply (14 gallons each) for you and your family.
  • Next Start or Update your Emergency Water Purification Equipment.

Practice:

  • Hands-on practice has been shown to be the best way to be able to respond well in an emergency.   Dry run various scenarios and the anxiety of the emergency is greatly decreased.
  • Practice using only your stored water for two or three days. See if you can live on only one gallon of water per person per day.
  • Practice using your water purification equipment and supplies so you are comfortable using them in an emergency.

Youth Book of Mormon Reading Challenge

We started a Book of Mormon challenge at the beginning of March, and the goal is to read from the Book of Mormon every day!  The youth were given a reading chart and asked to mark off the days they read…it does not have to be consecutive days…we have rewards for 21 days, 60 days, 100 days, 150 days, and 200 days.  When the youth complete one of these benchmarks, they can talk to a leader to get a reward! They do not need to read a certain amount, 1 verse, a chapter, for a certain amount of time; whatever they feel they can read each day is all that is asked.  We invite all youth to participate!

Latter-Day Prophets Speak

Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives,”

President Russell M. Nelson, General Conference, April 2018

“Whatever our Church calling, we can pray to our Heavenly Father and receive guidance and direction, be warned about dangers and distractions, and be enabled to accomplish things we simply could not do on our own. If we will truly receive the Holy Ghost and learn to discern and understand His promptings, we will be guided in matters large and small.”
